Everything in my life seems unimportant right now to what is going on in Japan.

I’ve been glued to my computer and television set watching & reading about the 8.9 Earthquake in Japan that also triggered tsunami warnings for 20 different countries since it was first reported.

The devastation is unthinkable. My heart aches for all those affected by this tragedy. My gut feeling is that it’s not over. I’ve had this feeling since I first saw the impact that the earthquake had earlier in the day. Something bigger is about to happen in that area. I just hope we as humans can overcome this significant change that is upon us.

To show you how serious I am about this gut feeling, just read the messages below that were just posted on BBC News.

  • 22:52: The Tokyo Electric Power Company has said the cooling systems of three reactors at second nuclear power plant, Fukushima-Daini, are malfunctioning, according to the Kyodo news agency. The plant is 11km (7 miles) to the south of Fukushima-Daiichi, where the cooling system one of its reactors is not working and pressure is rising.
  • 23:10: More from the Tokyo Electric Power Company: It says the ability to control pressure in some of the reactors at Fukushima-Daini has been lost. Pressure is stable inside the reactors, but rising in the containment vessels, a company spokesman says.

What happens when they can’t keep the pressure? Read about it here.

I just hope and pray they get this situation under control before all that radioactive material is released into the environment and makes today an even worse tragedy than it already is.
